Frequently Asked Questions

What do I get when I participate in one of your rally driving courses?

A real gravel rally stage - Accept no substitute! Our rally driving courses take place on our own rally stage with both gravel and hard surfaced sections to really test your driving skills.

Learn to drive like a pro - Not quite sure what the difference between a Scandinavian flicks and a handbrake turn is? Learn the skills that the pros use to keep the car going flat out at all times.

Teaching by champion instructors - Our instructors include multiple British rally champions. You’ll learn with them alongside you and then enjoy a high speed ride you’ll never forget!

What should I wear on the day?

Casual clothing, it is important that drivers wear correct footwear on the day. We advise drivers to wear trainers which of standard width or thin soled shoes. Work Boots can often be too wide causing problems using the cars pedals. It is advisable to bring a jacket or warm clothing in the winter. All safety gear is supplied by LRS.

Are there any height or weight restrictions?

No. Our cars are fitted with adjustable drivers seats ensuring each driver can adopt the perfect driving position given their size or weight. The cars running on the day have varying sizes of seats, drivers will be able to try each seat then choose the most suitable to use for the days driving.

What happens on the day?

On arrival, drivers and guests will be shown to the briefing room and will register themselves with LRS. Drivers and guests are welcome to help themselves to refreshments. There is short briefing given by the instructor covering safety, day format, cars, techniques etc. The participants then move to the driving area with their instructor and the driving commences.

The instructor will be sat with the pupil at all times to give advice and tips and also for reasons of safety. Once driving has finished the participants will return to the briefing room for a debrief where the instructor will be on hand to give feedback on drivers performance for the day and answer any questions.

Are your cars full rally specification vehicles?

Yes, we have a long history of the team competing in major rally championships and we would accept nothing less than vehicles that are fully rally spec'd.

Can I bring spectators?

Guests and spectators are welcome at LRS for a £10 charge. We provide dedicated viewing areas for guests on our rally stages as well as a chance to attend the drivers rally briefing. Refreshments are available throughout the day.
